Had a nice drive down and back to Washington D. C, got my passport application signed and delivered, now I just have to wait for them to send it to me.

Yesterday, while I was driving down, Heather went up to some sort of environmental rally up in Boston.

This is just a filler post.

Just kidding. However, some people may not find it interesting. If you don’t, please shut up about it.

The way I feel, I want to replace the word “meh” with a obscenity of some sort, but this is a family sort of place. In any case, I’ve made one of the more major fucked-up decisions in my life, and I made it last week.

Firstly, though, happy international Talk Like A Pirate Day (even though it’s almost over, and is over for a lot of the world.) Me and me hearties in information techno’lgy marked the occasion by answering all tech support phone calls in pirate-speak.

Now, though, on to the main point of this posting.

Went to Gap today, and saw a lovely sweater on the table in the front. So I peruse the pile looking for a dark-green one in an extra-large, which I had a bit of a hard time finding. I thought nothing of it.

Yep, it’s another memorial post.

Madeline L’Engle died on September 6th.

You’re probably wondering one of two things right now.

Today is 11 September. Today’s also Tuesday. This, to me, is more significant than any amount of years, simply because 11 September was a Tuesday, as well. Everyone remembers where they were that day, that fateful morning, where they were. For some reason, I didn’t really feel…drawn to make a memorial post on here until this one, the others just haven’t seemed as important as this second Tuesday.

This weekend was fun, but I need to write a proper blog about that, so you’ll hear about that later. First, though, some exciting news.

As most of you didn’t know, my Bose 530 tuner wasn’t working for a while. Specifically, the right speaker (pair of Infinity speakers of an unknown-at-this-moment model number, mostly ’cause I can’t be arsed to take off the speaker grille to look) was not putting out any sound. So I tried the cables and all, and discovered that it was in fact the right sound port.

About a month later (that’s today) I decide to move the 530 to work for a bit, so I can get better sound quality in the new office. Something’s funny about my new office, and it doesn’t work well with the Tivoli Model Two that I had in there.  So anyway, I bring in the 530, and of course, the speaker still doesn’t work. Until I go to turn it on, and I notice a rather important fact. The balance slider is slid aaaaaaallllllll the waay to the leeeeeeeft. Slide it back to center, and I am overwhelmed by stereo-y good ness.

I’m allllllliiiiive!
